Anchorage, AK

If you've never been to Alaska, one of the things you'll notice right away is that during the summer Anchorage looks pretty much like any other city...maybe better.  The grass is green and flowers provide a lot of color during the summer months.  It strikes a lot of people odd that anything grows at all.  " Isn't Alaska covered with ice and snow all year long???"  The fact is, there's a lot of color in Alaska during the summer and Anchorage goes out of its way to make things as colorful as possible, especially in the downtown area.  What you are seeing here are pictures taken at the Town Square Park in front of the Civic Center in downtown Anchorage.  The photo at the bottom is of a hotel in the downtown area.
